Autumn Colors

Bright leaves (koyo) are to the Japanese fall what cherry blooms are to spring. The survey of pre-winter leaves has been a prominent movement in Japan for a considerable length of time and today draws extensive quantities of explorers to renowned koyo spots both in the mountains and in the urban communities.

Every year, beginning in mid September, the "koyo front" gradually moves southwards from the northern island of Hokkaido until it achieves the lower rises of focal and southern Japan towards the end of November. A few trees around Tokyo and Kyoto stay bright into right on time December.
